3PU Week 9 w/ week 8 recap...

Charlie Whitehurst (Right) practicing this week for his
big game.

SCORES

Week 8 scores, and overall totals.

JONES: 1 Point
ROGER: 6 points
JEREMY: 3 points
CHOATE: 3 points
DILL: 2 points

This weeks matchup: (RED MEANS TOO WIN)

5 Point Games (AGAINST ALL ODDS UPSET):
DAL @ GB - Dallas will struggle in cold Wisconsin. KITNA, KITNA, KITNA.
NE @ CLE - NE is just playing too well for even C.McCoy to produce a win.
4 Point Games (UPSETS):
NYG @ SEA -  Whitehurst is going to get is first start. The real question we have to ask, will Charlie complete his first NFL Pass?
CHI @ BUF - Buffalo still without a win, will Chicago fail where KC didn't?
NYJ @ DET - Detroit is playing good football, and it is sad to see their record suck so badly.  NYJ have their struggling offense that needs to prove they can move the ball forward.
NO @ CAR - I almost made this a 3 point game, but NO is as good as CAR is bad.  Simply unpredictable.
3 Point Games (EVENLY MATCHED UP):
TB @ ATL
MIA @ BAL
SD @ HOU
ARI @ MIN
KC @ OAK - I think KC is going to have some trouble here.  I really do.
IND @ PHI
PIT @ CIN
2 Point Game (WINNABLE GAMES):  READ 4 POINT GAMES FOR REASONING
CHI @ BUF
NYG @ SEA
NYJ @ DET
NO @ CAR
1 Point Games(COMPLETE BLOWOUTS):  READ THE 5 POINT GAMES FOR REASONING.
DAL @ GBNE @ CLE

LAST WEEKS RECAPITATION

JONES
1)Carolina over St. Louis. I want at least one big point game and I think Carolina has something in them to try and beat a rising losing team. Go OREGON DUCKS with JStew getting no(few) carries but still could make a difference.  (0 points here)

2)Washington over Detroit. I am not suprised at how well the Redskins are doing but it appears Donavan is comfortable in the system. That will continue against the meowing Lions. (0 points here)

3)New England over Minnesota. Brady throws all day as Peterson puts up a bunch of yards but only 2 scores. The ball travels faster through the air then on the ground, peer physics. Farve does play but maybe he should think about ending his streak to stay alive. (1 point here)

UPSET:
I already picked one upset, but I want to go with Cincy over Miami. Carson Palmer helps me out on a bye week for my fantasy team and throws 5 TD's. This is a stretch I know, but I need fantasy points!! (0 points here)
Sorry Jonesy, this just wasn't your week.Should have picked your 9ers and got the solid 3 points.

ROGER:
Picker of the week goes right here.  6 points to take the lead on the get go of the revamped and improved 3PU.  Here is you Video:

1)Seattle over Oakland. Marshawn Lynch is returning to his hometown and I don't expect him to disappoint. Oakland's weak run D is the perfect matchup for Lynch to have a big game. I don't see Oakland showing up like they did last week, unless Seattle turns the ball over on their first 2 offensive plays. Halloween at the Black Hole is a dangerous place to play...unless you have beast mode. (0 points here)

2)Jags over Cowboys. Jon Kitna will be starting now that Romo is broken. Is he the answer to all of Dallas' troubles? I'm curious to see how this works out for them. I'm thinking the Jags go to the running game and grind out a win. (3 Point Pick)

3)Saints over Steelers. What was Drew Brees doing last week? 4 INT's, 2 returned for TD's. He is going to have a comeback game this weekend, putting up big numbers on a good Defense. Rothlisberger will get back to his old self, getting sacked several times. Should be a good game! (3 point pick)Upset: Minnesota over New England. Brett who? That's what we will be saying next week after Adrian Peterson and the Vikings defense carry this team to victory. (0 points here)
You never know what you are gonna get when you pick dem hawks.  This week they gave you a big zero.  But a couple other picks were made.  Solid work sir.

JEREMY

1. Seattle over Oakland.
Oakland Raiders team that got a huge win last week but are terrible so far against the run. They are giving up 138.9 yds a game on the ground including 9 TD’s. Oak is also the hometown for Lynch. I expect full beast mode to be in play leading MR Lynch to his first 100 yard performance of the year. It is funny to me that the Hawks get the Raides on Halloween due to the fact that ALL the raiders are in costume every Sunday posing as Professional football players. Its always Halloween in Oakland. Hey what a great costume to be…. A NFL Oakland Raider. (0 point pick)  No Comment!!!
2.

2. Indy over Houston.
Even with the injuries to the Colts they still have Peyton Manning. Indy wants redemption after the week one win by Houston. I Think Indy will be ready for Arian Foster this time. Houston pass defense is the worst in the NFL and will get torn apart this game. (3 point pick)

3. New York Jets over Green Bay.
The Jest are coming off a bye week and are at home to face a good GB team. GB is a little banged up and the Jets are close to being at full strength. Green Bay has no has not shown a running game yet and will have to rely on Aaron Rodgers. That means testing Revis Isalnd and Cromartie. (0 point pick) You get as many points awarded for this pick as the Jets Offense last week.  Good work Sanchez.

Upset - Buffalo Over KC
Go big or go home game for me.
Yes KC has been playing good as of late. They are 4-2 and in 1st in the AFC west. But Buffalo looked awesome last week losing to who I think is the best team in the NFL right now. Fitzpatrick threw all over Balt and is on fire as of late. Eric Berry will be put to the test in this game. (0 point pick)

CHOATE
Game 1: Denver over San Francisco. Neutral game in the land of the next NFL and where NFL there has failed already...twice. [NFL Europe]. Denver has too many weapons who aren't retarded and know what "teamwork" mean. Denver beats them by AT LEAST 10 points. (0 point pick)

Game 2: Houston over Indianapolis. Peyton may be The Professor and the greatest QB in history, but his team is WAY too beat up to put up with a healthy Texans team. Andre Johnson takes one to the house and it hinges on Arian Foster's showing up or not. (0 point pick)

Game 3: Tampa Bay over Arizona. Evenly matched as well, but Tampa Bay is one of the best teams in the NFC. They are streaking at the right time and getting things done no matter how unimpressive it may be. A win's a win and they keep gettin em.
(3 point pick)
Upset pick: Cincy over Miami. Miami may look good, but Cincy has WAY too much talent to keep losing like they have been. Owens OR Ochocinco score as well as Benson taking 1 to the house.
(0 point pick) Choate ends this week with 3 points comin his way.   Cincy has foiled you two weeks in a row.

DILL

BUFFALO over KC (0 point pick)
MINNESOTA over NEW ENGLAND (0 point pick)
ST. LOUIS over CAROLINA. (2 point pick)
Way too hungover to be wittyand/or clever. I mean, went out dressed up as Kenny Powers last night. Enough said.

Upset: GREEN BAY over NEW YORK (pick was correct, but not in UPSET pick, zero points awarded.  All upset games to pick from will be the 4 or 5 point games.  Hangover picks would be tough.  Thanks for posting in the knick of time.
