The WORD Week 8.
Make you 3PU picks (Right Column that says "Week 8 3PU"
I did not have time to put in pictures, because I am going to the CAL vs OSU game, but this is Valuable Fantasy material.
No comments, no write up, just stay shutting up and keep listening.
Starts
QB- Ryan Fitzpatrick Buffalo
Ryan has looked good the last couple of weeks. He threw for 374 passing yards, four
touchdowns and two interceptions at Baltimore, who I believe is the best D in the NFL.
Buffalo plays KC this week which they have been decent against the pass KC gave up
222 yds, and 2 TD against Todd Bauman of Jacksonville last week.
HB – Marshawn Lynch Seattle
Marshawn looked great last week and its only going the get better. He is facing an
Oakland Raiders team that got a huge win last week but are terrible so far against the run.
They are giving up 138.9 yds a game on the ground including 9 TD’s. Oak is also the
hometown for Lynch. I expect full beast mode to be in play leading MR Lynch to his first
100 yard performance of the year.
HB – Chris “Beanie Wells” Arizona
Beanie has seen his work load increase as of late. And with Hightower continuing to
fumble I expect Chris to get the bulk of the carries this week. They are up against the TB
Bucs D that is second to worst in the NFL against the run. They are giving up 157 yards a
game on the ground.
WR – Steve Johnson Buffalo
I expect Steve to have another good game following his 8 catch 158 yard 1 TD
performance last week against Baltimore. Lee Evans should see draw the attention from
KC and will free up Johnson all day.
WR – Dez Bryant Dallas.
What a fun Monday night game last week. As soon as Kitna came into the game he
looked directly to Bryant’s direction. All Bryant did was score two TD’s. I expect Kitna
to be looking his way all game this week against Jacksonville’s horrific pass defense.
They are giving up 263 yards a game and have given up 14 TD’s threw the air.
WR – Pierre Garcon Indy
Pierre has everything going for him this week to have a Break out game. He has Austin
Collie hurt, Dallas Clark out all year, Indy’s two starting running backs hurt, Reggie
Wayne drawing the double teams, Peyton Manning as his QB, and he is up against the
WORST passing defense in the NFL in Houston. Need more…..?
TE – Dustin Keller Jets
He is coming off a bye week. He has been impressive all year and expect nothing less.
And I have him on my Fantasy team so go Keller go.
Defense – Seattle Seahawks
I love the Hawks. I think they have a great matchup this week. Oakland does not have
a good passing game, (Campbell still sucks). There only chance they have on offense
is to run the football or dump it out to McFadden and let him do all the work. While
McFadden has been impressive while he has been healthy the Seahawks run defense has
been awesome. They are still the second ranked rushing defense in the NFL and if they
can bottle up McFadden, Campbell will find his best receiver, (Earl Thomas) all day. Go
Hawks.
Sits
QB – Vince Young Ten
Good news for Young is he is back and starting, bad news is he is facing the Chargers.
San Diego has the NFL’s best passing defense right now only giving up 158 yards a
game. They have more picks then they have given up TD 7:6. San Diego is tied for the
lead in the NFL in sacks with these Titans. Not good signs for Young.
QB – Jason Campbell Oakland.
Campbell has not been good this year and is up against a very good Seattle D. The hawks
pass rush and ET will frustrate him all day.
HB – Chris Ivory Saints
Bush probably could have came back this week but he looked at the schedule and saw
they were facing the Steelers D and probably decided to wait a week. So again Ivory gets
the nod this game and he has to face the NFL’s best rushing D. Good Luck
HB – Mike Bush Oakland
McFadden will see more touches and Bush when Bush does go in he is up against the 2nd
ranked rushing defense in the NFL in the Seahawks.
WR – Michael Crabtree San Francisco
San Fran is going with 3rd s tring Mighty Mouse QB this week while in London in Troy
Smith. The Crabtree will be frustrated when balls cant get to him. He is also going to
have Champ Bailey covering him all day.
WR – Roy Williams Dallas
When Kitna went in last week for Homo I mean Romo, Roy was not targeted once. While
he has a great matchup against Jacksonville I expect most of the balls thrown to go to
Witten, Austin, and Bryant. Williams will just be the odd man out.
TE – Marcedes Lewis Jacksonville
He was a start for me last week and sucked it up. Because of that and the fact that Dallas
plays well against TE he becomes a sit for me this week.
Defense – Pittsburg
While Pitt has a great rushing defense there passing defense is only subpar. They are
giving up 253 yards a game this year threw the air. I expect New Orleans to air it out all
game long this week and put up some good numbers, If they want to win at home.
WEEK 7 GRADES
The Word for Week 7.
If you listened to my word last week, well than you had a pretty darn good week. If you
didn’t, well you sir are an idiot. Why because this is the WORD and it is always right. So
listen up to my starts and sits for week 7.
QB – Joe Flacco Baltimore
Joe Flacco had a great game last week against a good defense. He threw for 285 yds, 2
TD and no picks. He has a good matchup this week against Buffalo. Buffalo is giving up
200 yds a game threw the air but the big thing for me is they have given up 11 TD’s and
only one pick. I expect Baltimore to have a good game offensively in a rout of the Bills.
Actual. 250 yards, 3 TD. Scored 26 Fantasy points.
Grade A
HB – Peyton Hillis, Cleveland
While he was a sit for me last week he is a start this week. I think he Is going to be out
with something to prove this week after only rushing for 41 yards last week. He has a
decent match up against the saints who tend to give up some yardage on the ground.
Actual – 69 rush yards, 13 rec, TD. 12 fantasy points.
Grade B
HB – Marshawn Lynch, Seattle
Here we go. This will be the first time I am putting a Seahawk RB on here or anywhere
in a very long time, and I am STOKED to be doing so. The Seahawks will be behind a
very well and improved line that looked awesome last week. Arizona ranks 29th in the
NFL against the run, giving up an average of 140.8 yards per game, and has allowed an
average of 22.40 Fantasy points to opposing running backs thus far. Im expecting and
hoping Seattle gets there first 100 yard rusher this season.
Actual – 89 rushing yards. Scored 8 fantasy points
Grade C+
WR – Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City
Dwayne looked great last week with six catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns on
nine targets. He has a great math up this week up against Jaguars. The Jags are giving up
263.3 yds a game threw the air and 14 TD’s.
Actual – 81 rec yards and 2 TD’s. Scored 20 fantasy points.
Grade A+
WR – Mike Williams Seattle
Mike had a career day last week with 123 yds receiving. He has yet to find the endzone
this year but you heard it here first, He will this week. Arizona ranks 26th in the league
in passing defense and is giving up an average of 19.80 Fantasy points to opposing
wideouts.
Actual – 87 rec yds oh and He did have a TD. Who called that??? Scored 14 Fantasy pts
Grade A
WR Terrell Owens Cincinnati
TO is coming off a bye week and has had two monster performances in his last two
games played. He has a good matchup this week against the Falcons. Atlanta is allowing
239 yds a game threw the air. They are also going to be with out their top corner because
he decided to knock out Desean Jackson and himself and create some new NFL hit rules.
Nice work Duante. Now you get to watch TO go off on your team.
Actual – 88 rec yds and a TD. Scored 14 fantasy points.
Grade A
TE Mercedes Lewis Jacksonville
Now most people think that this is a major bust pick this week. And after I watched the
Monday night game, Jacksonville’s coaching offensive coordinator is an IDIOT. So its
hard to put any Jaguar on here. Lewis will have third string QB Todd Bauman throwing
him the ball. But I am one that always says the TE is the best weapon for a struggling
or young QB especially a 6’6” 275 athletic one in Lewis. If Jacksonville wants MJD to
get going they need to throw the football and I can’t pick a better way to do that then to
Lewis. Let’s hope their coaching staff figures it out this week.
Actual – 44 rec yds. Scored 4 fantasy points
Grade D
Defense – Seattle’s
YES I am excited for this one as well. The Seahawks D looked great last week in
bringing pressure all day on Jay Cutler. They are the NFL’s number 2 rated rushing D.
They are 3rd to last against the pass in terms of yards per game. But they have a major
bend but don’t break attitude. While giving up 290 yds a game threw the air teams have
only mustard 6 TD against them. Oh and this game is at Qwest field, the loudest stadium
in the NFL. Rookie QB Max Hall will not be ready for the 12th man or the Hawks D.
Actual – 10 points allowed, 224 yards, INT, 2 sacks, 4x Fumbles recovered. Hurt max
Hall. Scored 22 fantasy points.
Grade A\
Sits For Week 7
QB – Max Hall, Arizona
While Hall does have on target in Larry Fitzgerald to throw to he is up an amazing pass
rush and a run stuffing D in the Seahawks. Not only will he have that to deal with, he will
be up against the 12th man out there in Seattle who gives him one hell of a time.
Actual – 4-16 36 yards, INT, fumble lost. He got hurt. Scored -3 fantasy points.
Grade A+
HB – Tim Hightower Arizona
Again he is up against Seattle’s run D which ranks 2nd in the NFL. They have not allowed
a 100 yard rusher yet this year.
Actual – 59 rush yards, 1 fumble lost. Scored 3 fantasy point
Grade A
HB – Ronnie Brown Miami
Ronnie will have a tremendous time trying to find holes to run threw against the leagues
best run Defense in Pitt. Pitt still hasn’t allowed a RB to rush for more than 45 yards on
them.
Actual – 14 rush yards, 20 rec yards. Scored 3 fantasy points.
Grade A
WR – Lee Evans Buffalo
Lee is up against Baltimore who is coming off an overtime loss. They will be out to prove
they are the best team and defense in the NFL this week which doesn’t sit well for Mr.
Evans.
Actual – Killed me, 105 rec yards, 3 TDS; scored 28 fantasy points.
Grade F
WR – Mike Simms Walker, Jacksonville
While I have their TE starting I would sit Walker. Not only does Walker have Todd
Baumen starting but he has not been productive at all this year and should not continue
this week.
Actual – 38 rec yards, TD. Scored 9 fantasy points.
Grade C
TE – Greg Olsen Chicago
Chicago pass protection was so bad last week off the ends that I believe they will have to
keep their TE in to help out. With Olsen having to play more of a blocking role against
Washington’s 3-4 defense he wont be getting the ball thrown his way.
Actual – 43 rec yards. Scored 4 fantasy points.
Grade B+
Defense – Arizona
Their gonna get torched this week by the Hawks.
Actual – 22 points allowed, 302 yards, FF, 5 sacks (move in the pocket hasslebeck).
Scored 9 fantasy points.
Grade A
Recap
It was a good week for my WORD. Overall grades for my starts were a B+ and my sits
were a B.
Comment what you think. Let’s Debate.
Well that was the WORD. WORD OUT

Week 8: 3PU
I consider this season the prototype. By next season, this should be working really well. What I enjoy about what we are doing here is making a prediction and backing it up with a little or a lot of detail. I don't want that to leave. I read sports articles all the time, and when I read what you all write, it has that kind of ring to it. I want you voices and opinions heard, so whatever changes are made, just keep that up.
Here is the new and improved 3PU: Points system... Each game will be valued
Pick 3 games with some reasoning and one Upset with some reasoning. Upsets will be the 4 point and 5 point games. You will only gain one extra point for chosing a correct upset.
5 POINT GAMES (Big upset Games)
BUFFALO (0-6) to win againts KC @ KC (4-2) - If KC is going to take control of the AFC west they have to win winnable games, and Buffulo is a must win for them at home. Although that Fitzpatrick is really playing well, the bills played well against one of the strongest bird teams in the league. The RAVENS.
Every TD
MINNESOTA (2-4) to win against NE @ NE (5-1) - The Vikings are up against the wall and have a crying man representing the team. Tom Brady is doing everything he can to not look like a football player and the further he gets from it the better he becomes. Remember in 2007 when they were perfect all season long. Everytime he threw a TD, he looked upset. No emotions, in fact he was teh exact opposite of how favre reacts to a TD pass. Favre looks like a little kid when he throws a TD, and i get why. I was play flag football last year, and it was the last play, we were losing horribly and all we wanted was a TD. Final snap I shake the pass rushers and dash towards the sidelines, without even time to look for recievers I rear back and haul one as far as i can, and its tipped and caught by one of my recievers. I remember pondering to myself, "huh, that is what it must be like to be Brett Favre."
4 POINT GAMES (Underdog)
SD (2-5) to beat TEN (5-2) @ SD - SD's record and injuries make them the underdog, and the Titans are playing well enough for me to make SD the underdog.
CAR (1-5) to beat STL (3-4) @ STL - Although STL and CAR are evenly matched, the Rams are playing really good at home. STL gets the favorite to win from me.
Bradford looking good at home.
DET (1-5) to beat WAS (3-4) @ DET - Despite the Lions playing at home, they just can't seem to get a win. WAS's running game is getting better each week.
3 POINT GAMES (Even Match-up, MORE OR LESS. Either team picked here is worth 3 points)
SEATTLE (4-2) @ OAKLAND (3-4) - If the Raiders didn't play so well against DEN, I would have moved this game to a different point game, but they rolled over the broncos. Seattle's run defense will truly be put to the test. Should be a good game, at Oakland, on Halloween.
Big match-up.
TB vs ARI
TB (3-4) @ ARI (3-3) - Evenly matched game, don't want to do the research to provide my reasonings why. Maybe because I could care less who wins.
PIT (5-1) @ NO (4-3) - PIT had a close game against MIA. I am not ready to consider NO the underdog. Even match up for me.
DEN (2-4) vs SF (1-6) @ LONDON - Even Matchup, due to their not being a homefield advantage.
GB (4-3) @ NYJ (5-1) - Two great teams matched up to roll. Should be a really close game.
What style. This guy just knows how to do things the right way.
MIA (3-3) @ CIN (2-4) - I am sure the bengals should be considered the underdog, but I think they are gonna show up in Cincinatti, and make this a tough game for the Dolphins.
JAC (3-4) @ DAL (1-5) - I was going to make this a 4 point 2 point game, but Kitna is a better QB then ROMO. I expect this to be a close game, and it is basically going to come down to which team shows up. KITNA, KITNA, KITNA. He is the answer to every fans dream.
TEN to beat SD @ SD
STL (3-4) to beat CAR (1-5) @ STLWAS (3-4) to beat DET @ DET (1-5)
1 POINT GAMES (Blowout type game) (Read all my 5 points comments for my reasons)
KC to win at HOME against BUFFALO
NE to win at HOME against MINNESOTA
Now this is a game of strategy. Who will come up on top by the end of the season. Good Luck Fellas, make you picks, and again, provide some reason behind your picks.

Week 7 Recapitation
Wow! What a week in FB. Thank you all for participating, this is surprisingly a lot of work, so I hope you enjoy it. At some point, I figure I would want to stop getting people involved, but it really is exciting to see what you guys write, and recapping your thoughts and effort to getting it on this site makes it an absolute pleasure.
Picker of the Week: Goes to DON T. The only prediction picker to go 3/4. The picker of the week. An obvious villian to the blog, and Raiders fan has chosen Oakland to come into mile high city and win. He has also continually been making points not to pick the "fluff" picks, and has not made those picks. But that is not the pickers fault, it is mine, and I am planning an turning this blog into a little more of a competitive game. Look forward to this weeks 3PU. Here you go DON, a video for you:
JONES
1) Denver over Oakland. Closer then the experts think but the Kyle Orton has it going on this week.
Prediction Incorrect. EEP. Kyle Orton did not really have his week, and it is about that time where Denver really begins to show true form. 6-0 last season to start, 8-8 to finish. Ordinary Overrated Orton is Over from Ops the Optimistic.
2) Baltimore over Buffalo. Ravens fly the way to a victory, as in Flacco goes over 250 in passing yards.
Prediction Correct. Here is another prediction that many people made, but Jones made it first, which means he is checking my blog enough to be the first to make his predictions. Who whould have thought, this game would have been so close.
ROGER
1)Washington over Chicago. The Redskins have been in a lot of close games with some good teams this season. The Bears are overrated and will show yet again that they suck. Lets see if Cutler can survive another week.
Prediction Correct: Lovie Smith is offering the highest one year salary to Dante Hall. He would like Hall to play WR for the bears. Hall on defense had 4 rec for over 60 yds with a TD. I wish i had him on my fantasy. Oh, those were actually interceptions, and bears fans must be loving their new direction. Glad to see such a nice prediction. Nice pick...
2)Minnesota over Green Bay. Green bay is missing players left and right. Aaron Rodgers has to carry the load and he cant do it for more than one half. Brett Favre is playing his 119th game at Lambeau Field. This is a Favre type of game and I see him showing up to play.
Prediction Incorrect: Favre sure looked good, on the ground. He was trying so hard. My favorite part was when Percy Harvin caught that End Zone pass and didn't keep his foot in. GB pulled it out in the end, and Aaron Rodgers is getting it down with some missing keys. Oh, Favre is damaging his soul.
3) Seattle dominate weaksauce Arizona. The Seahawks picked up their first road win of the season last week and come home for the debut of beast mode at Qwest Field. Hasselbeck is finding his rhythm with Mike Williams, Deon Butler and John Carlson. Arizona might have negative overall yardage.
Prediction Correct: Man, did M. Williams looks awesome. Matt is getting more comfortable with his recievers. I expect Carlson to begin to show his skills again this next half of the season. Hawks pull off a huge win, and should go into Oakland only getting better. Should be a good game.
BYRON
1) What better way to get this party started than with a cliché homer pick? SEATTLE over ARIZONA. As a Seattle sports fan this is the type of game that scares me s---less. I won’t go on a tirade as it’s not good for my blood pressure but the point is – Seattle franchises have an innate ability to simply fail to show up in big/must win games. Plain and simple. However, insert Max Hall. A road game for an undrafted rookie signal caller in an environment such as Qwest Field? Child please.
Prediction Correct: The cardinals did not have too many false starts. but they were clearly having trouble syncronizing the snap. The Hawks D were all over that, and capitalized on plenty of opprotunities. Orlando Mare had a career game. I bet for Arizona Cardinal fans the ultimate low for them during the game, was when Mare hits a 31 yarder, and it gets called for holding. Then, he hits the 41 yarder, which is called for holidng. So, Mare hits the 51 yarder and keeps his streak going. Mare miss a field goal? Child Please.
2) Since this is my debut I’ll throw up the gimme to get things started on the right foot. BALTIMORE over BUFFALO. Buffalo is horrible. Flacco has a sweet uni-brow (aka “The Raven”). Moving on.
Prediction Correct: These really easy picks are going to be tougher to come by. But, this ended up being a nail biter to the end. Fitzpatrick, is the answer to Buffalo, and if they could just establish a Defense maybe they wouldn't be such a bust of a team. Pittsburgh, New England, and Miami are all in Playoff contention and play the Bills late in the season. Expect the Bills to start pulling some serious upsets against bigger teams.
3) I’ll be a little less conservative on this last one (NO over CLE) but not too reckless. DENVER over OAKLAND. As a Colorado native and having read Raider Nation’s rant from last week I’ve gotta give some love to the Broncos. Al Davis is crazier than DiCaprio in Shutter Island. Seriously.
Prediction Incorrect: This whole prediciton is just wrong. "NO over CLE", DEN over OAK". 59 points. I had McFadden on my bench and he scored me 43 points. Al Davis is crazy like DiCaprio in Shutter Island, but sometimes crazy is the perfect recipe for an inconsistent divsional rivalry.
UPSET:
Favreknuckle rolls into Lambeau Field and does it again. MINNESOTA over GREEN BAY. The Packers are too dinged up on both sides of the ball and the dirty pic textin’, Wrangler wearin’, INT throwin’ ol’ man always shines against his former team. Greg Jennings will post a good day for your FFB team but it won’t be enough. Expect Moss to score but don’t expect him to pull a repeat of the moon job he busted out in 2005.
SCOTT
1) Baltimore over Buffalo. This is really a no brainer because Buffalo sucks...
Prediction Correct: Glad you didn't use your brain for this pick. Good thing you were right, but barely right. Johnson, you better check yourself before you wreck yourself.
2) New Orleans over Cleveland. Colt McCoy as an NFL starting QB is laughable at best. The opportunistic Saints D will outscore Clevelands offense by themselves.
Prediction Incorrect: This is a nice shot to your own foot. Drew Brees is just gonna need to figure out how to get things going. But the Saints are not going to ever get back to what they were last season. Cleveland is getting better. They only have a rushing game, McCoy wasn't anything spectial. Either was manning though, in his first season.
3) Seattle over Arizona. Qwest field is a tough place to play for veteran QB's like SD's Philip Rivers. Toss a no talent rookie like Max Hall into the Thunderdome and the outcome won't be pretty. Seahawks roll to 4-2 by way of 15 false start/ delay of game penalties against AZ.
Prediction Correct: Need more to be said. YES? OKay then. Okung is really good. It sucks he got hurt, and Jeremy Bates pretty much, decided the not run the football following that injury. We had too many red zone situations that ended with just 3 points. 1st and Goal on the 5 and we pass three times and kick a field goal. Lets hope we can get that running game without Okung next week.
Upset Special!!!
JEREMY
1. My first pick won’t be Baltimore winning over Buffalo. It will be them dominating. My prediction is that they will not only win but they will cover the 13 point spread. Sorry Bills fans but you are better off watching college football to determine who you would like to pick as the number 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Prediction Incorrect, and the only person to choose the Ravens to win but by more then 13. Whoops. It is all good, it is the only prediction that had some challenge in this match up. Even though you were incorrect, you still can hang onto your dignity in my sports world.
3. Seattle Over Arizona. This one won’t even be close. The Seahawks new awesome pass rush and the 12th man will confuse and frustrate rookie QB Max Hall all day. ET will phone a Hall pass home this week. AZ will have no running game against the number 2 ranked rushing defense in the NFL. Offensively for the Hawks, will be in BEAST MODE and we will see Mike Williams get his first TD of the year. (Maybe a one handed grab in the back of the end zone like at USC). Welcome to the rainy city Zona and the noise of the 12th MAN.
Prediction Correct: Hall looked horrible, Williams did get his first TD, and Zona had struggles with the twelve man and there horrible silent snap count. Arizona did show a stronger running game than expected. With Mebane back practicing, I think we will again be back with a strong Running Game.
Upset Alert : Dallas over New York Giants
Dallas is in a must win situation. They are on Monday night football and playing at home. They looked better while still losing last week in Minn. I really believe if Wade Phillips wants to keep his job they have to win this game. Jerry Jones can say to the media that Wade is not in trouble of losing it. But we all know Jones, Wade losses he will be out in Big D.
Prediction Incorrect: I cannot wait to see what happens to Phillips. Jerry Jones spends all this money, campaigns for the Hosting the Superbowl, and his team goes 1-5. Bitter Sweet.
DON - Lets Talk "Fluffers". You bring up good points Don. I think people are focused on maintaining a winning average record, and have trouble picking the for sure picks. I am going to come up with a points system, where I value the games and the tougher games will be worth more points and the no brainers are worth the minimum. Should be fun. I will not be making anymore picks, but I will Value the games on my odds and not what anyone else thinks. This should make the people making the bigger picks get more out of it. Oh, and nobody is getting scored this week, and next week our season will begin.
1) New England will travel across the country to kick San Diegos ass. Hard, and SD is favored, but that's not my upset.
Prediction Correct - I said last week that I would not pick SD to win another game, because they have screwed me numerous times, and I still pick them. Sometimes I look at the my previous thoughts and actions, and just want to slam my face into a wall. The patriots took care of the first 3 quarters, and SD got it going in the 4th but it was just too much. Pats move on.
2)Atlanta is going to beat Cinci. I might even play Matt Ryan in fantasy this week to jinx him and make the game closer.
Prediction Correct - Instead of playing Ryan for the Jinx, you started Orton and the Raiders really took care of him. Lets see what happens this Sunday. I am looking forward to the game. Atlanta and Cinci really had a good game, and it looks like the Dirty Birds are enjoying their time on top.
3)The Buccaneers are going to lose to the Rams at home. Sam Bradford is a stud in the making.
Prediction Incorrect - The Bucs are playing very decent. We have this feeling about teams that just suck, and they don't so much anymore. The Rams, Bucs, Browns, and Lions are playing good football, despite their records. It has gotten to a point were they can not be underestimated.
Upset pick-
Who else? Oakland takes it to the mile high city and beats Denver.
CHOATE
1. Seattle over Arizona. Just like everyone else, I HAD to pick our hoemtown team, especially at home. With a monumental win on the road last week (first outside the division since 2007??), Seattle takes the momentum home and dominates the Cards by at least 10 points.
Prediction Correct - Welcome Choate, good to have you hear. Everyone picks their team to win on their first week of predictions, and doesn't it just feel good to be so sure that the Hawks are going to roll up the Cardinals, and be right? Oh yeah, we have weapons now. We have a D-Line that is dominating, backed up with an experience fiece set of LB's, supported by Raw talented fearless rookie DB's making minimal mistakes and capitalizing on turnovers. Oh man am I getting pumped up. Keep em coming.
2. New England over San Diego. I know SD is favored here, but c'mon....no Gates, no Floyd, and possibly no Naanee = no win. Phillip Rivers may put up yards, but won't score a whole lot without his 3 top targets. And I hate NE.
Prediction Correct - As discussed earlier, SD just wasn't there until the end. Rivers did put up good numbers, Gates did play, and had a TD, but it just wasn't enough. The Charges and the Cowboys blow, and I am simmering in joy.
My upset pick:
Cincinnati over Atlanta. T.O. has been behaving and performing well for Cincy the last 2 games and Ochocinco is DUE for a breakout game after being held in check most of the season. He sent the Atlanta Defense all Mad Chad t-shirts this past week and he will come out mad as hell. He scores at least once.
Prediction Incorrect - I also picked this as my upset. TO is on my Fantasy, and he is sure helping me come back. OCHO did have a good game, but it just wasn't enough to get through it. Poor CINCY, they are really going to have trouble even getting a wildcard, being in such a tough division. I think that they have had they're chance these past few years and it is about to move another direction. They had better step it up.
PETE
(1) New Orleans over Cleveland. The Saints are talented and struggling, the Browns are absolutely abyslam, and the game is in NO---should be a comfortable win for Brees and Bush (no?) and Julius Jones.
Prediction Incorrect - Nice pick. TOO bad for you. Brees is not doing to good right now, and lets hope he figures it out before he plays the Hawks @ NO. Earl Thomas will be all over him. If you haven't seen my Nerd Rage Mondays this week, check out the last video, it will make you feel much better about the pick you made here.
(2) Ravens over Bills: Ray Rice and Joe Flaccid, who should stay out of trouble and wear down a sickeningly bad team.
Prediction Correct: Joe Flaccid took a viagra and gave it to Rice. Tough loss for the Bills, maybe they should move to LA.
(3) I've taken advantage of two easy matchups, so I think I should go out on a limb: Adrian Peterson will be held under 90 rushing yards against Green Bay. I can't justify this intellectually, because he should get 25 carries, but fuck him, it's gonna happen.
Prediction Incorrect: 28 carries for 138 yds. I like that you couldn't justify it, but that is why this is so much fun. Sometimes you have to just go on your gut, but your gut was not right. AP is playing amazing, he is taking care of the football and just a menace, too bad old man river can't do anything good for the team, and only one bad thing, show up.
BRUCE
1). Dallas will be 1-5. Writing that sentence down just feels great. There are just too many Dallas fans in this world and they need to feel just how I have felt the last two seasons as a dedicated Hawk fan. What defines a dedicated fan, you say? A dedicated fan will defend their team, when up against all odds. A dedicated fan looks forward to the each and every season, regardless of the previous season. A dedicated fan can not be bought, especially when playing Fantasy (sit your divisional rivaled players when playing your team).
Prediction correct - And man does it feel good. I have to find some nerd rage about the Cowboys. Lets see them hang in their, I am sure they will begin to fight to go to Houston Games.
2.) Cincinnati over Atlanta. The Bengals are up against a really good team. They are coming off a bye week, and I think will be looking sharp. Bengals offense should get things done, and I expect 85 and 81 to put their Jersey numbers together and get receiving yards within that reach.
Prediction Incorrect - This was a close game, and too bad I am incorrect, taking me further away from ever being picker of the week. Ocho and TO put up like 30 more yds then what I predicted but they made it within that reach.
3.) Seattle take 1st place in the Division. For me, this pick is like picking Baltimore to beat Buffalo. Seattle is just going to look that good. Yeah, Arizona has had an extra week to prepare for us, but Max Hall is no Kurt Warner, yet. He has a lot to prove, and will not be able to do it for his 9th quarter in the NFL at Quest. Sorry buddy, you lose.
Prediction Correct - I think Max Hall will show us a cool magic trick, where he will vanish into thin air from the NFL. I expect that. Seattle won a winnable game. Good work.
Upset.) This is really tough one to pick this week. I am picking SD to beat the Patriots. To me, this is an upset. SD is 2-4 and NE is 4-1. Vegas odds have SD favored, but to me, the Patriots are one of the few Elite teams playing. SD might be without Gates and Floyd, but rivers still may put up good numbers and win this barely.
Prediction Incorrect - SD blows, and I love it. I say I am though picking SD to win, but I have a feeling that they are going to start winning some games, but like it all of their games this season, it will be just too late.
Ops the Optimistic Over and Out
Picker of the Week: Goes to DON T.
Browns Win!!! Cleveland Steamers on the house...
3) New Orleans over Cleveland. Saints get on track early and dont look back even though McCoy starts to shine as a rookie QB looking for fan club. He is no Drew Brees.
Prediction Incorrect. Whoops. Are the Saints done, yes. They had their spotlight and are back to origanal form. Last season was last season, and this season rocks. I am really enjoying all these elite teams, not being elite. They are making sports analysit, writers, and broadcasters look like a bunch of fools, or "Fluffers" as I would say.
UPSET:
Arizona over Seattle. Max Hall doesn't have to play well for the defense takes care of things for him. Hasselback throws 3 picks including one for TD!
Prediction Incorrect. Hasselbeck is finally figuring out how to not through picks, with his newly installed offense. His strategy is to take the sack. Throwing 3 picks is going to happen less and less. I appreciate you trying to ruffle my feathers with this pick, and if my team were 1-5 coming into this week, i would to be predicting a loss to the team first in the same division. Hawks 4-2.
Ed Hochuli would have made the Miami vs Pitt Fumble Right. Too bad.
Big balls pick of the week: Miami over Pittsburgh. Bill Parcells has left the building but Miami still has a “Tuna Surprise” for the Steelers. Rothlisberger is playing his first road game of the season, which means he is going to be busy harassing local waitresses and not focusing on the game. I am glad he is back because I enjoy watching him get sacked.
Prediction Incorrect: This pick would have made you picker of the week again. Ben Burger fumbled in the end zone late in the 4th, but the call was not overturned due to the camera angles and players not visibly recoverieng the fumble. Too bad, because this was Miami's game.
Prediction Incorrect: You hit the hammer on the nail for most everything you said. Jennings has a great day. Moss does have the touchdown, but acts professional. The announcers even reference the moon job. Favre is over, and nothing like a fake injury to keep him off the field. Michael Jordan called me this week after reading my blog and said, "Man, that Farve needs to retire. He is really making a mistake, trying to squeeze in these extra years." Aaron Rodgers is the real deal. He is a class act, and a winner.
Your picks are as cute as this dog. Go to your room.
St Louis over Tampa Bay. Sam Bradford is coming into his own and the Bucs can't stop anyone! Steven Jackson (Another Predator lookalike) Is still one of the best players in the game and will expose Tampa's soft run defense. Rams over Bucs by a TD.
Prediction Incorrect: I wish i could have watched that game, and I bet you are somewhat excited to be wrong. The Rams lost a winnable game, as well as the 49ers. One of the best feelings a fan can have is beating a divisional rival as well as having the rest of the division fall.
JEREMY
This is someone who knows how to make wise decisions.
2. Tennessee over Philly. This game will come down to the wire. I think that this will be an awesome game but Chris Johnson will end up being too much for Philly to handle. Ten defense will frustrate Kolb, especially if he doesn’t have Jackson and they will control the Time of Possession with their ground game.
Prediction Correct: Great Pick. This is a risky pick, because of these teams it can be extremely unpredictable to see who shows up. Replace Chris Johnson with Kenny Britt, and you would have sounded like a genius.
Give it to em Oakland!!!
Prediction Correct - Oakland Rolls over Denver. They took care of the football. The Defense came to play. One thing that I continue to see, are divisional underdogs beating the snot out of the other team. I am happy Oakland won, because this is going to make the Seattle @ Oakland game on Halloween, that much more exciting. Since I have known you don, the Raiders have blown Chunks, and this is the first time that they are playing decent, and with a shot for more than an early 1st round pick. Enjoy it, I might see you on Sunday.
CHOATE
AP looking good for the Camera
3. Minnesota over Green Bay. Favre is going through another scandal/personal problem which means he's poised to put up like 400 yards and a few TD's again, right? Maybe not, but with Harvin finally breaking out last week, and Moss able to catch any toss-up, Favre may start smiling more this week.
Prediction Incorrect - Favre blew, and is now injured and won't play. I wonder how Jackson is going to look taking over the Vikes. This is why I love the NFL so much, everything moves around so quickly, great teams struggle and struggling teams get through the tough ones.
Tough time for Mr Smith
(Upset): Carolina over SF. Two mongoloids trying to hump a doorknob, but there happens to be two excellent RBs on Carolina, and Matt Moore will make a triumphant return not fucking up to beat another terrible team.
Prediction Correct: Not much of an upset, but It is correct. Maybe, just maybe we can have a special moment for these guys just like the Seattle HS had a special moment with this special guy.
BRUCE

Prediction Incorrect - SD blows, and I love it. I say I am though picking SD to win, but I have a feeling that they are going to start winning some games, but like it all of their games this season, it will be just too late.

NERD RAGE MONDAYS (Week 7)
I really cannot wait to recapitate all of your picks. Man, this is beginning to turn into a weekly project, but really fun to do, because living in bend has giving me so much free time.
I am thinking about restructuring the rules to each weeks 3PU, and it should make things more exciting. The rules will be posted above at the beginning of the predictions. You'll see. I am writing all this extra jargon, because when i post videos towards the top of the blog they go into the column on the right side. So, lets hope this is enough.
NRM = Nerd Rage Mondays. Each week, fans of losing teams like to post what is called a CROW. I don't know what that means, but basically they bitch and whine about how they should have won the game. It really is enjoyable to see some of these people and their frustrations. I can actually see the stress pouring out of them in an unhealthy way. Which is good for any medical provider seeking work. Keep that stress up
I MUST WARN YOU THAT SOME OF THE THINGS SAID ARE EXTREMELY FOUL. I AM NOT KIDDING, AND I JUST COULDN'T WITHHOLD ULTIMATE NERD RAGE CROWS..... WARNING, WARNING, WARNING
Our Reigning Nerd Rage Champion....
I really enjoyed this video. I wouldn't want to mess with this guy. I think he should play for the Broncos. .
WARNING WARNING WARNING!!! DO NOT WATCH IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT BE OFFENDED. 5:50 was my favorite part.

THe WORD - Week 7 Starts/Sits and W6's Grades
The Word for Week 7, by Jeremy Faoro
If you listened to my word last week, well than you had a pretty darnn good week. If you didn’t, well you sir are an idiot. Why? Because this is the WORD and it is always right, so listen up to my starts and sits for week 7. If you don't believe me, you can read last weeks grades towards the bottom of the page. Lets begin.
QB – Joe Flacco Baltimore
Start Flacco, I am...
Joe Flacco had a great game last week against a good defense. He threw for 285 yds, 2 TD and no picks. He has a good matchup this week against Buffalo . Buffalo is giving up 200 yds a game threw the air but the big thing for me is they have given up 11 TD’s and only one pick. I expect Baltimore to have a good game offensively in a rout of the Bills.
HB – Peyton Hillis, Cleveland
While he was a sit for me last week he is a start this week. I think he Is going to be out with something to prove this week after only rushing for 41 yards last week. He has a decent match up against the saints who tend to give up some yardage on the ground.
HB – Marshawn Lynch, Seattle
UofO can suck on this. Beast Mode.
Here we go. This will be the first time I am putting a Seahawk RB on here or anywhere in a very long time, and I am STOKED to be doing so. The Seahawks will be behind a very well and improved line that looked awesome last week. Arizona ranks 29th in the NFL against the run, giving up an average of 140.8 yards per game, and has allowed an average of 22.40 Fantasy points to opposing running backs thus far. Im expecting and hoping Seattle gets there first 100 yard rusher this season.
Dwayne looked great last week with six catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets. He has a great math up this week up against Jaguars. The Jags are giving up 263.3 yds a game threw the air and 14 TD’s.
WR – Mike Williams Seattle
Mike had a career day last week with 123 yds receiving. He has yet to find the endzone this year but you heard it here first, He will this week. Arizona ranks 26th in the league in passing defense and is giving up an average of 19.80 Fantasy points to opposing wideouts.
This guy is really good, expect big things from him this week.
WR Terrell Owens Cincinnati
TO is coming off a bye week and has had two monster performances in his last two games played. He has a good matchup this week against the Falcons. Atlanta is allowing 239 yds a game threw the air. They are also going to be with out their top corner because he decided to knock out Desean Jackson and himself and create some new NFL hit rules. Nice work Duante. Now you get to watch TO go off on your team.
TE Mercedes Lewis Jacksonville
Defense – Seattle ’s
YES I am excited for this one as well. The Seahawks D looked great last week in bringing pressure all day on Jay Cutler. They are the NFL’s number 2 rated rushing D. They are 3rd to last against the pass in terms of yards per game. But they have a major bend but don’t break attitude. While giving up 290 yds a game threw the air teams have only mustard 6 TD against them. Oh and this game is at Qwest field, the loudest stadium in the NFL. Rookie QB Max Hall will not be ready for the 12th man or the Hawks D.
Won't be pretty for the Cards.
Sits For Week 7
QB – Max Hall, Arizona
While Hall does have on target in Larry Fitzgerald to throw to he is up an amazing pass rush and a run stuffing D in the Seahawks. Not only will he have that to deal with, he will be up against the 12th man out there in Seattle who gives him one hell of a time.
HB – Tim Hightower Arizona
Lowtower fumbling his way on the fantasy bench.
Again he is up against Seattle ’s run D which ranks 2nd in the NFL. They have not allowed a 100 yard rusher yet this year.
HB – Ronnie Brown Miami
Ronnie will have a tremendous time trying to find holes to run threw against the leagues best run Defense in Pitt. Pitt still hasn’t allowed a RB to rush for more than 45 yards on them.
WR – Lee Evans Buffalo
Lee is up against Baltimore who is coming off an overtime loss. They will be out to prove they are the best team and defense in the NFL this week which doesn’t sit well for Mr. Evans.
WR – Mike Simms Walker, Jacksonville
While I have their TE starting I would sit Walker . Not only does Walker have Todd Baumen starting but he has not been productive at all this year and should not continue this week.
TE – Greg Olsen Chicago
Notice no ball is in his hands, 0 catches for 0 yds last week.
Defense – Arizona
Their gonna get torched this week by the Hawks.
It was a much better week for my Word in week 6. Made some good picks and only one or two bad ones. I don’t ever account for injuries and Nicks getting hurt, hurt my overall score. Mike Bush could not get going. Well Lets get to grading.
Starts – Overall grade = B
QB – Eli Manning NYG threw for 177 yds and 2 TD. He scored 19 F-points.
Grade B+
HB – Mike Bush Oak. 47 rushing yards. Scored 5 F-points
Grade D+
HB – Ahmad Bradshaw NYG – He had 133 yds rushing and scored 14 F-points
Grade A
WR – Hakeem Nicks NYG – he got HURT. 1 catch 8 yds. 0 F points.
Grade F
WR – Mike Wallace Pit – 90 rec yds and a TD. 15 F points
Grade A
WR – Kenny Britt Ten – 33 rec yds but he saved me with another TD. 9 F points
Grade B+
TE – Chris Cooley Wash – 37 rec yds. He scored 3 F points
Grade D
Defense – NYG – they had 20 pts Allowed, 366 yds, INT, 2 DFR, 2 sacks. Scored 12 F points.
Grade B
Defense – Pitt – 10 pys allowed, 328 yds, 2 INT, DFR, 5 sacks. They scored 17 F points
Grade B+
The Word Sits - Overall Grade = A
Definitely did my homework with my sits for the week.
QB – Shaun Hill Det – 91 passing yds, TD oh and like I said by trying to survive. He got hurt. 9 F points
Grade A+
