Week 5 Recapitation 3PU (3 Predictions and an Upset)

This is a Recap of last weeks predictions.  Each week people are making NFL prediction and 1 Upset.  This blogs is nearly updated daily, so feel free to browse around and make comments.

Farve's Capabilities
UPSET ALERT! Fucking Broncos will beat the Ravens in their house! Kyle Orton is going to go off. The Ravens will not be able to keep up with the points battle. Wait a minute, what am I saying? Never mind, forget that. Broncos win a close low scoring game.

Nice prediction, NOT!!! My question to you is why not start Orton in fantasy. Had you done that, you would have won.  That's too bad.  Looks like you won't make that mistake again.  One thing i would like you to know about the Broncos is they start hot and finish very poorly and thats WITH Orton.  Prediction Incorrect.

Drink up, your gonna need it, for
week 6. Check out my Theme Song
Above.

ROGER - 2/4 last week and 2/4 in week 5.  Titans + Jags both good picks.
1) Titans over the Cowboys. Dallas had a bye week but that is not enough to fix this team. Expect Johnson to make some plays this week and record his sixth straight road game with 100+ yards.
"Thats my QB. Thats my Teammate"  Bahhahahaha.
Well put sir.  You hit the hammer right on the nail.  Johnson + 100 yds.  Again the Cowgays all come right back to this moment.  Prediction Correct.
2) Niners over Eagles. "Kolbcussion" is brilliant and I see it happening. I see this being a low scoring, defensive game. Are we going to see another one-sided Special Teams victory?
Kolbcussion didn't happen, but it was a really close game.  For some reason I wanted the 49ers to win just because it is getting sad.  David Carr, David Carr.  My favorite part of that whole situation is 2nd Stringer Shaun Hill is rolling in Detroit, looking better then ever. Prediction incorrect.
3) Jags over Bills. MJD is going to return to his old self against a weak Buffalo D. The Jags beat Indy on a last second 59 yard field goal from Josh Scobee and that has to be a confidence builder.
Prediction Correct.  Well played sir.  MJD played OK.  Garrard is really doing well.  Scary to pick him up for fantasy, still seems unpredictable. Upset: Chiefs over Colts. Yep I said it. And not just because I want to be the guy that says "1 did" when people ask "the Chiefs are 4-0, who would have thought?". Sure, i didn't pick them to be 3-0, but I am picking them now. The Colts are banged up and the Chiefs are coming off their bye week. I see this game being controlled with the one-two punch of Jamal Charles and Thomas Jones, wearing down the Indy D and keeping the ball out of Manning's Hands.
For that first half i thought you had it.  It was really a close game.  Too bad they just couldn't finish.  That is a very bold prediction.  You recieve the Balls of Steel award for trying, but the prediction is incorrect.
Don't F with this guy.  He will predict your death by his fist.

Bruce- 1/4 last week and 2-4 this week.  Leaving me at 3 for 8.  I need to step it up.
1.) Seattle is not going to lose this week. I think they will have a solid week of preparing to not lose this Sunday.  They are going to work so hard this week. I can "gold stamp guarantee" (Figure 5.1) the Seattle Seahawks will not lose in week 5.
I will not do this again, but it was Jeremy's joke and I stole it. Prediction Correct.  I really need to just be right sometimes.
2.) Detroit has been playing better than their record, and it is time that they get their first win against the St. Louis Bradfords'.  Those Rams fans are starting to feel a winning breeze, but that is all they will feel is a two week gust, and back to their usual form.
This prediction has been discussed multiple times. Prediction Correct.  The Rams aren't that special.
3.) I am predicting that Green Bay will be walking in to FedEx field looking like they are ready for the Superbowl.  Washington just barely got through a win against philly, and McNabb is gonna have a hell of a time working through GB's D.  Meanwhile, Rodgers is just going to be in is Pro Bowl  form, creating all sorts of good.  Should be a blow out.
Wow.  Cannot believe this came down to a game winning field goal.  Lower scoring.  I am lost for words. Prediction Incorrect.
Upset.) Jones, I got some love for ya.  I am predicting the the 49ers will finally put a win on the board and begin to make it even more difficult for announcers to make the correct decision when it comes to the NFC West.  Which is great, because most likely one of these four teams will finally get things together and end up in the superbowl, just like it has happened twice in the past 5 years.  (05' hawks, 08'cards).  Philly's Kolb might think he is getting a solid start against an 0 & 4 team, but what he is really going up against is an 0-4 Patrick Willis.  Willis will be changing Kevin's last name to "Kolbcussion" (Hayoo!!!!). 49ers 1-4 after Sunday.
Peace out...
Carr, Carr, Carr.  It was upsetting to see that, I think the 49ers are finally going to bench Smith, and he just isn't gonna be that guy.  Or they keep with him and hope that his horrible luck won't be with him.  I love blackjack, and i know all the right moves to make, but I still lose. Maybe luck is also a huge factor to success with some players. Prediction incorrect.

That wraps up week 5's 3pu recapitation.  Pete came out really strong 4-4, everyone else is just gonna have to step things up. Including myself.

I just cannot believe how each week consistanly continues to be unpredictable.  Thank goodness for that, my fantasy team is 0-5. But Bezerkers is going to be facing a menace of a team at week 6.  I am really pleased with the participation this week.  Of all the years to create this blog, this is by for the hardest.  Lets recapitate.

PETE - 4 for 4 in week 5.  Can you keep this up.
(1) The Chiefs will join the ranks of the beaten: Not an upset here, as the Chiefs are underdogs away at Indianapolis. Thus far, KC has ridden an effective running game with the two-headed attack of Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones, each averaging over 4 yards a carry. Matt Cassel has generally avoided mistakes (except against Cleveland) and has thrown fewer than 30 passes in each game, a surprise for a Charlie Weis-led offense. With the Colts' vulnerability to the run, this could be closer than the line indicates, but the Colts will pull it out and give KC its first loss.
Great Prediction Pete.  This game was closer then expected.  Prediction Correct.
(2) Philadelphia will not miss Vick: Let's not forget that, as talented as Michael Vick is, and as attractive it is that he adds a running dimension to Philly's offense (he is the Eagles' second-leading rusher), Kevin Kolb is still a solid NFL quarterback. SF has had trouble with the run and has suffered from a surprising inability to rush the ball itself despite Frank Gore, and Philly will be able to control the line of scrimmage without putting excessive pressure on Kolb. Philly will beat SF without much trouble.
This game was much closer than it sounds like you expected.  Had Smith not choked and had that one fumble for a Philly TD, this would be been an incorrect prediction.  Prediction Correct.
(3) Randy Moss will be a non-factor on Monday night: This prediction stems from my suspicion of Moss fitting in quickly to Minnesota's offense, my dislike for Brett Favre, and my admiration of shutdown corner Darrell Revis. To hedge this pick a bit, Moss will be held under 100 yards and will not catch a touchdown against the Jets. (This trade made no sense for NE, Minn. beyond this season, or Moss beyond this season, and amounts to a desperation move in what is hopefully Brett Favre's last gasp at the playoffs.)
Pete, out in the fields.  Studying life.
This is your best prediction this week.  Well said.  Prediction Correct.
(Upset) Det. over St. Louis: Even without Matthew Stafford, Detroit has amassed a collection of outstanding skill players, as well as castoffs from Seattle, and the two groups will perform well enough against mediocre Saint Louis to earn the Lions their first win.
Prediction Correct.  This could have been in impressive upset for you but too many people made the same prediction. But it was a safe one. Good work this week.  But even a broken clock can be right twice a day.  Let's see how you do next week.

Jones goes 2-2 this week making him overall (5-8)
DILFER, DILFER, DILFER
First off, I want to put in my thanks for the mention of the 49ers and the fact that Patrick Willis is possibly the best thing out of Ole Miss. They should have made a movie about him and how hard he hits!

1) 49ers will win this week and give a good overall show. The defense has been strong and will have to power the win but the 49ers offense will put up 2 touchdowns to seal the deal.
What a good game.  Too bad Smith just cannot do it.  One of the funnier things in that game was the crowd chanting "Carr, Carr, Carr!"  Eek reminds me of when Hasselbeck had
his second string QB being chanted throughout the Husky Stadium.  Prediction Incorrect.
2)The Saints again will provide us a win putting Arizona in the hole even more. DA will show up like the old OSU days and fall to the ground with some Will Smith pressure from the outside. If he does seem to grow a pair, he could find some weaknesses in the secondary with still no Sharper leading the fury. Still a NO win!
I can't believe this team is 1st in the NFC west.  Max Hall sure fooled the entire football nation.  Wow.  Prediction uncorrect.  Lesson learned to, the for sure feeling picks just aren't for sure anymore.  Also, NO does not look that great.  Prediction Incorrect.
3) Matt Ryan looks strong with support all around him as Atlanta beats Cleveland. This is the only win in Atlanta you will hear about. Go S.F. Giants!!
Poor 49ers.  Jones has trouble
walking when they lose this bad.
Prediction correct.  Good pick, but Still the Browns aren't so much that team you can just anticipate to lose.  Prediction Correct. UPSET) I was going to pick Oakland in this but with McFadden most likely out I couldnt make a bold prediction. Instead I will go with =New York over Houston. Bradshaw wont fumble again (trying a Tiki Barber look-a-like) and he will score a few. Eli throws the ball well and proves that the Manning name is what we all want on the back of our QB's jersey.
Way to explain what you are thinking.  Both the Oakland and NYG picks were good.  Although, you would have looked like a genius if you would have just stuck with Oakland.  SD is so horrible.  I love that they suck balls.  Ha. Prediction Correct.

Jeremy - Newcomer - Goes 1/4
1) Baltimore should have no problem with Denver. Orton will have more picks then TD’s. OVERRATED Orton.
Your Overrated Orton is funny, but so far, incorrect.  However, Baltimore did get the winning.  Prediction Correct.
2) Arizona will give up 40 points to New Orleans. In there 2 losses this year they have given up 41 points to San Diego and Atlanta. Well New Orleans has a better offense then both and should have 0 problem finding the endzone against AZ.
This seems sooooo safe for a simple pick.  But, it wasn't.  Max Hall got it done, and made half of us look bad.  Damn you Arizona, get to the back of the line where you belone. Prediction Incorrect. 3) Houston will beat NYG. Houston stuffs NY’s run game and forces Eli to throw a ton. Eli should put up big numbers in a high scoring game but Houston’s O ends up to be too good.
You are not right here.  Stupid Schaub is ruining me.  Prediction incorrect.
Upsets
I know we are suppose to do one but I have 2 for this week. Both teams getting there first win of the year.
1) Detroit over St Louis.
Detroit has looked good while losing. They will win at home against a not very good ST Louis team.
Oh Shit, what you about to say.
Oh, you are saying "2"
for 2-4 this week.
2) Car over Chi
Carolina should put 8 guys in the box to stuff Forte and Chi run game and make Collins beat them. He will fail to do so. Car gets win #1.
Looking at the Stats of the game.  Carolina should have won this game.  Forte went off.  Collins went 6/16 with 32 yards and 4 interceptions.  He sucks.  The only thing he did well was hand the ball to Forte.  Carolina should have put 10 guys in the box and had a safety sit over the top to pick off collins.  4 turnovers and no win.  WOW.  Prediction incorrect. Carolina screwed you over.
Don - 2-4 last week and 2-4 this week.  Batting 500 is a great average.  Why not choose the Raiders this week. SD at the black hole.  You think the Raiders are gonna roll over Seattle on Halloween, but don't pick them to beat the Chargers.  C'mon don.  You would be in Ditka's doghouse if he knew you.

The Moment that started the "Curse"
"Thats my QB, thats my Teammate"
1)I hate Tony Romo. I don't even know why. I hate his name, his face, his girlfriends, his butt buddy Whitten, his coach and his owner. Despite all that, he has a descent cheer leading squad and they are the difference maker in this game. Dallas wins, and by enough to make it look like they are a good team, but they suck.
They still suck, and everyone gets to enjoy another foiled season. How much does Jerry Jones have to put in to get the announcers to say the Cowboys are the team to beat.  Jones is such a douche nozzle.  There doom all seems to fail after this moment. (right). Prediction Incorrect.
2)Cleveland at Atlanta. You gotta be outta your mind if you think Cleveland has a snowballs chance in hell of winning this game. I will punch myself very hard in the face if Atlanta does not make Cleveland look like pop warner.
Prediction Correct.  Not much more to say.  P. Hillis still playing well.  Getting a TD again.  I think that Cleveland is considering playing C. McCoy.  Should be interesting.  Teblow still not getting his chance.  The real prediction we should lay out, is of our friends, who is gonna have Tim Tebow as there starting QB.  I predict nobody, ever.
3)Monday night-Vikings at Jets. J-E-T-S. Dirty Sanchez will post big numbers and Brett Farve will look like a complete ass in front of the entire United States viewing audience. Jets win.
JETS JETS JETS.  This was a great game.  Favre had another great last play to show the world what he is really capable of (see picture).
