Here are the standings thoughout the 2 weeks of this. Guess what, we are going by best average, so people can still jump in and make some predictions. Get involved the people doing are having a good time. I have the text messages to show.
As the season progresses things are beginning to get harder and harder. I just looked through this weeks schedule, and am having a lot of trouble actually making a prediction i can stand behind. It really is just a flip of a coin for me. But i am also batting .375, so it might be that too.

I must talk about the Seahawks for a minute. One of the more exciting things I am looking at is our injury report. It has one player on it as questionable: Dexter Davis. Thats IT!! I know we are coming off the bye week, but it has been 2 seasons staight when we were dealing with injuries at extremes. Pitts, Locklear, Okung, Trufant will all be playing. With Branch gone and Lynch in, I see some potential improvment for Hasselbeck and the Seattle Rushing game. What better test than against the Chicago Bears.
Lets make some Predictions:
Lets make some Predictions:
| Figure 6.1 |
1). SD to beat St. Louis. I know that the West teams have just handled the Chargers, but they are a good team. They just start out horribly every season. The Seahawks, Raiders, and the Chiefs all have defeated the Chargers, and have made every big time analyst incorrect. St. Louis has been playing really well at home, but they won't be able to play well enough. Oh and Phillip Rivers is a douche, (see figure 6.1).
2.) Houston will beat KC. Not only will they win, but it will be a big win for Houston. Matt (Unpredictable) Schaub, is about to join free agency, and someone else can have him, if he has one more horrible game. What a doof.
| "Lynch in Beast Mode" |
3.) Seattle Seahawks' running game will improve. They will have their best rushing game yet. With the strenthened line and a more powerful RB, it doesn't matter that peppers and Urlacher are back on the field. They have to spend some time in the cage with a beast and can't use a gun. But if they could use a gun, that would only make Lynch better, because he is use to running from and dealing with guns.
Upset). Tampa Bay over NO. If Arizona can do it with Max Hall, why can't Josh Freeman do it. These are division rivals, it is a home game for Tampa, and NO has been struggling on injuries. How good is Drew Brees? We will find out this week, and hopefully I will be recapitating this upset prediction as a correct pick.
LETS GO??? SEAHAWKS...

Jeremy’s 3PU
ReplyDelete1. Atlanta over Philly.
This may be the game of the week, or Bal vs NE. Im going to take Atl over Philly. Atlanta’s D has been ball hogs. They have 11 sacks, 5 forced fumble, 10 INT, and 5 Defensive TD. With Kolb in the game I expect the sack and pick number to go up a couple. On the other hand Philly is giving up a ton on the ground (125 yds per game) and they will be up against a smash mouth runner in Michael Turner. I like the Atl odds on this one.
2. New York Giants over Detroit
If you read my WORD then you will see a lot more of why. In short NY’s ferocious pass rush and good all around offensive game will be way too much for Detroit. Shaun Hill had a great game last week and this week will only try to survive. And I hope Burleson tears an ACL this week trying to high step it in the end zone when he is 5 yds short. What a douche that guy is. He is on the same level with me as A-rod, Both back stabbing Bitches.
3. PITTSBURGH over Cleveland
Rookie QB Colt McCoy starting against Ben Roethlisberger in his return. Peyton Hillis has a hurt Thigh and won’t be 100%. Pitt’s D is giving up 62.2 yds per game and only 2 rushing TD’s. No single running back has gained more than 42 yards against them, either. Hillis, who has scored a touchdown in all five games this season, but is also banged up. In four games, the Steelers have allowed 54, 35, 53 and 66 total rushing yards even though they have faced running backs like Atlanta's Michael Turner, Tennessee's Chris Johnson and Baltimore's Ray Rice. It’s going to be ugly for the Browns.
Upset –
San Francisco over Oakland.
Well Hell San Fran has to win sometime right??????? Why not against an Oakland team that spent everything last week winning over San Diego.
Love the tribute to Jay...he was having such a good year until the head injury came along. I have to say, Todd Collins might be the worst backup in the NFL.
ReplyDelete1) New York Giants will have another impressive win against Detroit. Not much to say about this besides its a home game and the offense has a chance to continue rolling against a struggling defense.
2) Pittsburgh over Cleveland. Big Ben is back and will struggle but as always on the other side of the ball is a weak defense that will get ran through and around by Rashard. Rookie Colt will struggle as a QB against a Steel Curtain with such beautiful hair.
3) Now its my team and they have been disappointing as expected when you have Alex Smith as your quarterback. I am still going to go with San Francisco over Oakland. This game will be rough with Oakland actually not as bad as an Al Davis team should be. Mikey Singletary will yell at Alex before each series and watch him have a career day. If not, then we might see the desperate Carr come under center or maybe the new pickup of Troy Smith (Heisman QB's in the NFL.....)
UPSET: Atlanta over Philadelphia. Pretty even match-up but some lines at Las Vegas had the Eagles by +3. Its a wash....the game of football will be played and the Falcons with be the last bird flying here.
I was thinking Washington over Indy but I know Manning will find a way.
It's been great reading all the posts and predictions. I must admit though, it is taking away from my usual NFL viewing self. Typically I hate everyone but the Raiders. Actually, I still hate everyone but the Raiders, but I find myself leaning towards hoping someone else will win as well. This is an uneasy feeling and I am not comfortable with it at all. I bleed silver and black and I am the only person currently posting on this site with over 30 years loyalty to my team so anyone else who does not have 30 years loyalty and three super bowl victories can shut it before speaking negatively about the Raiders. That being said, I will no longer predict any team from the AFC West to win a game other than the Raiders. I refuse to feel good about a team other than the Raiders winning a game. I hate Denver, San Diego, Kansas City, and because they used to be AFC West, SEATTLE. Death to them all.
ReplyDeleteMy predictions for this week will reflect my hatred for the NFC as well. I am old school and when the Raiders are not in the Super Bowl, I root AFC.
1)Houston beats KC. F the chiefs
2)Jets beats Denver. F the broncos
3)Idianapolis beats Washington. F the NFC
4)Upset Alert.
Oakland brings the wood to San Fran to F
those queers
NICE picks jones. Copy cat. hahahahah. I know your not because we posted at the same time. But I got mine in first. lol
ReplyDeleteAnd Don, your old.... with 30 years loyalty. lol. Must suck to root for a team that has 31 wins in the last 8 years. 31-86. ouch, I would be pissed too. But you do have 3 superbowls wins to my 0 so i really dont have room to talk. Just like to anyway because its all in fun.
My predictions:
ReplyDelete(1) Pittsburgh over Cleveland: I figured I would start with what I am confident is a safe prediction---the Stealers, coming off a bye week, have had ample time to reintegrate Big Ben into the offense and should have little trouble at home taking the Browns.
(2) Marshawn Lynch will be held under 100 yards rushing. I'd be happy to be proven wrong on this one, but Seattle will be hard-pressed to commit to the running game on the road against the Bears' stout defensive front. The Hawks' run deficiencies go beyond line injuries to scheme and commitment to establishing the run, and the pressure will again be on Matt Hasselbeck and the defense and special teams.
(3) Houston over KC: The Texans are healthy again, and Andre Johnson (slowed this season by injuries) is poised for a big performance. The Texans have suffered from a porous defense, so this game has the potential to be a shootout.
(Upset) Dallas over Minnesota: Two struggling teams still make a compelling matchup. Although Randy Moss has had an additional week to acclimate to the Vikings' offense and build a rapport with Brett Favre, Favre's own health is subject to question. The pressure is on Wade Phillips (an annual predicament) and I look for Dallas to recover against Minnesota.
Much tougher to make predictions this week . . . parity in the NFL makes for good entertainment
My predictions for week 6:
ReplyDelete1) Miami over Green Bay. Miami is playing very well on defense and are rested up coming off of a bye week. The Packers have not been able to show up strong in the second half this season and it shows. They have lost 2 of their last 3 by a field goal and beat Detroit in week 4 by two points. I see Miami shutting down GB's offense and picking up their 3rd win.
2)Minnesota over Dallas. I dont see Dallas winning any part of this game. Is this Wade Phillips last game as head coach of the Cowboys? We will see.
3)Baltimore over New England. This game will be all about defense. The Ravens defense that is. I expect to see lots of Baltimore highlights after this game.
My big balls pick this week: Seattle over Chicago. Chicago is not as good a team as their record says. They lost to Detroit(we all know that was a touchdown), Green Bay handed them a win on monday night and they lead the NFL in sacks given up with 21. Jay Cutler is back. So what? ET is hungry for some picks and I see the Defense getting to Cutler quite often. Marshawn Lynch is going to take it to another level in his first game as a Seahawk. "BEAST MODE: ACTIVATE!" will be heard in pregame warm-ups and Lynch will turn into an unstoppable Bear killing machine. GO HAWKS!
